Battal is a private, bilingual AI Opportunity Agent. Privacy is not a feature bolted on afterwards — it is the foundation of how the product works. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have.

1. Data we collect

We collect the professional information you provide during onboarding: your role, what you are building, your goals, who you are looking for, who you can help, markets and regions of interest, preferred introduction channels, and language preferences. We also collect account identifiers such as your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, and optional voice-onboarding transcripts where you consent to them.

2. How we use it

Your information is used to build a structured relationship profile and to compute transparent, deterministic match scores. AI is used to summarise, tag and add nuance — never as the sole decision-maker. We use your data to suggest relevant, well-timed, double-opt-in introductions.

3. Double opt-in introductions

Battal never connects two people without explicit agreement from both sides. When a match is suggested, you see only professional context — never the other person's contact details. An introduction is only completed, and contact details only exchanged, once both parties have accepted.

4. No scraping

We do not scrape the public web, social networks, or third-party databases to build profiles. Every profile in Battal is created by a member who has consented to participate.

5. No contact sharing before consent

Email addresses, phone numbers and WhatsApp numbers are private. They are shown only on your own profile and settings, and are shared with another member exclusively after a completed double-opt-in introduction.

6. Consent management

Service consents (terms, data processing, matching) are required to operate the product. Marketing consent is always separate and optional. You can review and withdraw any optional consent at any time from your privacy settings.

7. Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Voice transcripts are retained only with your consent and can be deleted on request. Audit and compliance records may be kept for the period required by applicable law.

8. Your rights — export & deletion

In line with GDPR and PDPL, you can export a machine-readable copy of your data at any time, and you can request permanent deletion of your account. Deletion is subject to a short grace period, after which your data is irreversibly erased.
